About the Collection

The majority of the Native American Pottery Collection are vessels by Acoma and Hopi potters, which are strengthened by examples from Cochiti, Santo Domingo and Zia potters, exhibiting an impressive variety of shapes and motifs.  A portion of the collection, including a prehistoric vessel in the Mogollon-Anasazi Tularosa style that underscores the incredible history and sustained beauty of these objects, is owned by the Foundation, and the rest of the collection is a promised gift of Jan T. and Marica Vilcek to The Vilcek Foundation.
